Welcome to Thorold Theatre
MURDER: On the Air
A New Original Canadian Play by Daniel Willis
Step into the golden age of radio—where the air is thick with heat, secrets, and something far more dangerous.
Thorold Theatre invites you to the premiere of Murder: On the Air, an original live radio-style murder mystery set inside a 1935 broadcast at St. Catharines’ own CKTB. What begins as a routine program quickly spirals into suspicion, scandal, and murder—unfolding right before your eyes.
Hosted at the elegant Club Belvedere, this immersive evening blends theatre, food, and wine into one unforgettable experience.
Your ticket includes:
- A glass of red or white wine
- Antipasto plate of meats, cheeses, and fruit
- Fresh flatbreads with seasonal toppings
- Gelato dessert bar
As the story unfolds, you’ll be drawn into a world of live sound effects, sharp wit, and rising tension—where every character has something to hide.
Whether you’re planning a date night, an evening with friends, or simply looking for something different, Murder: On the Air delivers a night of intrigue, laughter, and indulgence.
Building on Tradition, Acting on the Future
For 40 years, Thorold Theatre has brought laughter, mystery, and heartfelt storytelling to audiences across Niagara. From our church hall and now to community centres, banquet rooms to borrowed stages, we’ve truly lived up to newly adopted name as Thorold’s Vagabond Theatre—bringing the magic of live performance wherever there’s room for a stage and a story.
Our most recent productions, including The Sweet Sounds of Murder, have shown that the spirit of community theatre is alive and thriving. Each show is a collaboration of passionate volunteers—actors, directors, technicians, and supporters—who turn every venue into a home filled with creativity and connection.
Now, as we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we’re looking ahead to the next act: finding a permanent home for Thorold Theatre. A place where imagination can flourish, stories can take root, and the next generation of performers can shine.
If you’ve ever laughed, applauded, or been inspired by one of our shows, we invite you to help us write the next chapter. Your support—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word—helps ensure that community theatre continues to thrive right here in Thorold.
